Lupin the Third needs your help!
The mission:

You are Lupin the Third's friend, Jigen. Lupin wants to go to Iran to steal a famous old statue, but he knows nothing about Iran! You must teach him about Iran, but he is now in China stealing some antique Chinese art. You are in Japan. You must write him a letter.

Write the information on the graphic organizer first.
After you find all of the information, write a letter to Lupin.

 Things to tell Lupin:

How much money does he need a day?
  = Google で [ lonely planet Iran money ]

What kind of food is there in Iran?
  = Google で [ Iran food ]

What kind of clothes should he bring?
  = Google で [ Iran weather ]

What is the name of the airport near Tehran?
  = Google で [ Iran airport tehran ]

Which hotel should he stay at in Teran
  = Google で [ Iran tehran hotel cheap ]

This letter was made from all of the student's letters. Read the letter and do the quiz!

Dear Lupin. Salaam! (This means 'hello' in Persian)

I have gathered some information for you. First of all, after you get the statue there are many Jewels are in the Merry Bank, so you should steal them too. The weather is cold in winter so you should bring warm clothes. There is a 4 and a half hour time difference so you may be tired when you get there. You should sleep for one day, and then steal the things the next day.

There are many cheap hotels like the 'Morman' but they are pretty bad. There are better hotels like the 'Iranshar Hotel' or the 'Draushar' but you don't have much money. You'd better stay at the cheap hotels until you steal the statue and the jewels.

The money of Iran is called the 'Rial'. One dollar is worth about 7900 Rial. On a cheap budget, you can live for 15$ a day including food, but if you stay at expensive hotels, it will cost 100 or 150 dollars a day. You can live nicely after the theft.

Taxi's cost about 1000 Rials. Telephone taxis are more expensive and comfortable than the orange government taxis but the government ones are safer. Busses are cheap too. There are no ATMs, so you can't use credit cards to get money, so you'd better bring cash. Tipping is not a custom in Iran so you don't have to worry about that.

Other things are cheap too. Something to drink only costs 500 Rial, a hamburger is about 20000 Rial, and a full dinner costs about 35000 Rial or 400 yen. The water is safe, so you can drink it without worrying. About food, Kebabs are popular, and rice is the staple food but you should eat hot dogs because they are cheap and taste good!

There are some things about the culture you should know. Women wear black and never show their skin. There is no alcohol, and people fast on Ramadan. The language is Persian and the only people that speak English work in the hotels so you’d better learn some Persian before you go. The Qazuin airport is near Teheran. Use this for your escape. Take a taxi there.

One more thing: There is a rumor that Iran will be attacked by the U.S. or Israel soon so be careful!  Good Luck!

Sincerly,
  Jigen
