Pre-writing strategy: "Sayuri's Way"
The next assignment is:

"People attend college or university for many different reasons (for example, new experiences, career preparation, increased knowledge). Why do you think people attend college or university? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer."

Before you start writing, it is better to have an idea of what you will write. In classes before, we used 'mind-maps' and 'graphic organizers' to write down our ideas before we started writing.

This time, let's use a technique that one of our fellow students made on her own. Let's call it 'Sayuri's Way'.

It is so easy, and she got a score of 4 by using it!

All you have to do is make a list of sentences about the topic.  Later, when you are writing, you can think about how to connect the sentences , which ones you want to use, and how to change them to make them flow.

Of course, at this pre-writing stage, you don't have to be so serious. Just write a lot! Write anything!

Here is an example list of sentences about this topic using 'Sayuri's Way'.

Some people go to university in order to get a good job after they graduate.
Some people go to university in order to study the subject they love.
Some people go to university in order to research something.
Some people go to university in order to make freinds.
Some people go to university to play sports.
Some people go to university to learn how to be an adult.
Some people go to university to get away from home.
Some people go to university to discover what subject they love.
Some people go to university to be with their friends.
Some people go to university because their parent's tell them to.
Some people go to university because they don't want to start working.
Some people go to university because the university is famous.

etc.

Now we have many thing to write. Later we can change these around when we write on 'Criterion'.

  Now you try!
